Risk Assessment Statement for Massage Therapy Clients
The health and well-being of my clients is paramount. I have taken the following measures in guidance with the below published Government document entitled ‘Keeping workers and clients safe during COVID-19 in close contact services.’

The following are the practical steps that I have taken to protect, you, me and others from COVID-19.
1. A ‘Covid-19 Screening and Consent’ online questionnaire will be sent 48 hours prior to your appointment to be completed electronically before your appointment time. If you are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms, please postpone or cancel your appointment.
2. Your 20-30-minute pre-treatment assessment will be undertaken in advance of your appointment online via Zoom at a mutually agreed time.
3. Your clinic time will be up to 45 minutes.
4. Your 15-minute homecare/exercise prescription will be taught online via Zoom, following your appointment at a mutually agreed time.
5. I will be wearing the following personal protective equipment (PPE): visor, mask, apron, and latex free gloves during your appointment.
6. Please bring your own face mask. I will request that you wear a face mask when you are face up or side lying on the massage couch.
7. I will continue with good hand hygiene practices, and hand sanitizer will be available.
8. Clients will be encouraged to travel direct from their home rather than, for example, after visiting shops. Please ensure that you have cleaned your whole body as close to your appointment time as possible.
9. On your arrival, at your appointed time, I will come to the front of my house to greet you and take you via our garden to the massage studio. We will be maintaining social distancing guidance and I will open and close all doors on your arrival and departure.
10. Please note that toilet facilities are within my family home and so during a national lockdown they are unavailable for you to use.
11. Before entering my massage studio, I will ask you to remove your shoes, apply hand sanitizer and put on your face mask.
12. A plastic lidded box will be available for you to place your belongings into. Please wear clothes that are easy to remove and refrain from wearing jewellery.
13. My massage studio and furniture will be sanitised before and after each client. All linen will be, as usual, clean for each client and after use washed at 60 degrees.
14. Massage wax will be decanted into a washable container for each individual client, then cleaned and sterilised after use.
15. My massage studio will be ventilated, before and after your appointment.
16. My cotton apron will be changed and washed at 60 degrees, after each client and visor disinfected.
17. All disposable items for example: couch roll, tissues and gloves will be bagged and disposed of in domestic waste.
18. Please bring your own water.
19. Payment to be made prior to appointment via bank transfer.
